Here we are in Great Lakes, IL, north of Chicago.  Lots to do and see here, and while we are here we will certainly be doing a lot of doing and seeing.  But in the midst of the excitement of checking it all out, we all seem to like being in the woods best of all.  Thankfully, and unexpectedly, there are quite a few woods “preserves” here, with ponds and fishing, lakes and trails, trees and leaves, and on this day… mud.  We are enjoying the first scents of fall, and looking forward to the beauty of the changing season, so different here than in Montana.
