Beautiful Autumn

Oct 16, 2010

No matter where we are, autumn happens with all its beauty, peace, and fun.  The weather here in North Chicago has been sunny and pleasant, and we’ve been doing our best to enjoy it.  When we’re not inside playing with art, toys, games, books and our new family nerf guns, and we’re not running errands or playing with neighborhood kids or working out or any of our various daily activities, we have been outside enjoying this beautiful season.  Corn mazes, pumpkins and pumpkin seeds, apple-picking and eating (no photos of that, sorry), leaves all around in which to play and make those satisfying crunching sounds, and woods to run through.  Today we walked through a wood that included stops along the way for “exercises”– balance beams, monkey bars, chin-up bars, ladders, beams to jump over, rings to swing on, and more.  These exercises used natural sorts of movements, movements we could all do at our own skill-level, both separately and working together as a family, and to top it off we got in a great workout.  Such fun.
