Matt and I recently created, for our daily advent calendar, a family activity around drawing.  We thought it would be neat to draw our stories and experiences about Christmas.  The picture we made was of decorated Christmas trees, presents, and fairies, and through the process we conversed and looked up stories about the Nativity, the Solstice, and Saint Nicholas/Father Christmas/Santa Claus.

I like having a broad perspective about the stories of Christmas, seeing how the different stories intersect in their meanings, thinking about them as a family, and using them to create our own meanings about Christmas.  Through the years I want to continue dialoguing, see how our perspectives change as we age and mature, and watch the way our meanings about Christmas evolve and solidify.  Together.
