I got to be a photographer for a homecoming recently, and it was truly an amazing experience.  Having been on the line of people waiting for my husband to get the heck off that ship, I knew I was headed into an emotional time for this family.  I didn’t realize how much seeing the homecoming as an observer would impact me, and I hope not too many pictures were lost due to the tears streaming from my eyes.  To get to witness this little family while they waited for and then reunited with their loving guy (in his sailor suit, no less), well, I just hope I get to do this kind of work again, and again.  It was so very beautiful.  I am wanting to keep this blog a personal one (our family journal of sorts), but I think it’s fitting to show these photos to you, because it gives a picture of part of the life of a Navy family.  This was our experience not so very long ago, and will be again in not so very long.
