outdoor adventuring

Oct 14, 2014

We finally climbed to the top of a mountain, and did get the epic view I’ve been wanting… kind of.  Through the trees it was there, and for that I am grateful.  To get the 360 degree panorama I want requires more here than in Montana, but we are working toward it.  And quite enjoying the process.

We journeyed down to the shore for exciting low-tide discoveries.  I so love the “firsts” we experience in all the places we live: the first shark tooth find or dolphin sighting in Florida, the first firefly show in Chicago, the first black bear sighting in Montana, the first blizzard or hurricane, the first crab finds in Washington, and so very many more… the wonder of those discoveries, for us and for the kids, makes all this moving around worthwhile.

We frolicked in the nature park for a bit of fall woods enjoyment, and we found a lovely quiet pinicking spot next to both a lake and the Sound for family fun and beach finds.  We found apple trees, too, and some marshmallows needing our attention in our own sweet abode.

I’m pretty excited to see this place as it changes further into the beauty and richness that is Fall, as I sure did miss it while in Florida.  We hear the weather will turn rainy and gray soon, but it continues to bless us with sun for now.
