a night at carney park

Jun 26, 2018

Our homeschool-Band-friend (the one who led the previous homeschool hikes) went out to Carney Park to stay the night in a cabin, so we joined them.  Carney Park is a US military recreational facility located in the caldera of an extinct volcano.  The park is just for military and guests, and it is used for golfing, sports, picnics, festivals, swimming, camping, etc.  It’s a park in a volcano!  It’s right in the heart of the city, but it is soooo quiet in there.  The kids and I rented a cabin for a night, played games, and felt like we were far away from civilization.  We had a hard time finding the hiking trails, but we managed to find some views.  It was a really nice, relaxing adventure.
