We met our Neopolitan friends, the Volpes, way up at the top of the hills (mountains?) of Benevento, at a placed called Parco Avventura Camposauro (Camposauro Adventure Park).  The air was fresh and chilly (it felt amazing to wear a sweatshirt!), the mountains beautiful, and the woods thick and shady.   With Ashton’s friend Sophie there as well, we sat next to a campfire and picnicked together, then did a ropes course with a very fun and kind camp host.  The sky broke with thunder and pouring rain about halfway through our course, so we ran for cover and waited out the storm in a tiny shack with Rosa’s cake, laughing children, an offer of wine (seems like there is always wine available here, wherever we go!), and the gentle connection of our new friends.  We finally made a run for it and went home soaked!
