punta campanella

These photos show the view of the island of Capri as seen from the town center of the little town we stayed in, Termini, at the tip of the Sorrentine Peninsula, the view of the sea from the window in our apartment, and the lovely plants on the walkway to our apartment.

Our next hike on the Sorrentine Peninsula (after Baia di Ieranto the day before) was to Punta Campanella, the tip of the Sorrentine Peninsula, and to a little church on Monte San Constanzo.  The hike started with shade and woods, which reminded us all of our favorite woods in Bremerton (Illahee).  Cedar was given the job of navigating with the help of our guidebook on this hike, which he really enjoyed.

The woods opened up to sea, sun, and expansive views of Mt. Vesuvius, Naples, Sorrento, the island of Capri, and the Amalfi coast on the other side.  WOW.

The little white church on the mountain in the left corner is where we walked.  The turquoise bay down at the bottom right is Baia di Ieranto, where we hiked the day before!!

Cedar was such a great navigator!

Toward the end of the hike, we found ourselves in a pine tree forest, which really reminded us of Montana.  We would love to bring some Montana folks up here!

This hike was fantastic!  Not too hard, not crowded at all, full of different kinds of terrain, and with insane views.  And only an hour and a half from our home.  We will definitely be back!!!
