Thoughts and experiences:

Prime shipping (vs 10-14 days in Italy) is amazing.

Italian packers can SUCK IT… I have maybe never been so angry in my life.

Moving is a lot of work, and owning a home is a lot of money and time.

Matt is awesome at getting things done and fixing things.

Minivans are AMAZING.  And so are kitchens.  And closets.  And insulation.

Matt bought a pizza oven and while it isn’t the same, it is still better than anything here.

Ashton turned 17 and went to the movies.  Cedar turned 15 and went to the arcade.  Costco cake is REALLY GOOD.

Florida is crazy.  It is full of all the creatures.  They are everywhere.  Owls and birds and turtles and snakes and fish and ocean life and raccoons and possums and armadillos and lizards and frogs and all the BUGS, and so much more.  It’s kind of freaky.  The kids saw a gator right away when we got here.

There are no more hills for hiking, which makes me sad.  But the trees are cool and the beach is lovely.  We are going to learn about kayaking and paddleboarding.

We went to a concert downtown to see Spin Doctors, which was Matt’s lifelong dream.  It was free and fun.  We went out to eat a couple times, but it is expensive and we no longer have money anymore.

We don’t have the passeggiata anymore (where Italians all go out and walk around together on the sea or downtown), but we do have Costco!  It really is a very pleasant place… although I would prefer a stroll outside with an outdoor cafe that offers more than crappy pizza and hot dogs.

We did stroll through St. Augustine, which was very nice and reminiscent of Europe.  And we have visited a few other places since we have been here.  We will keep looking around at this new world and discovering its beauty.
